Balance Sheet UK makes UK money simpler with free calculators, clear guides, a weekly pick of articles worth reading, and spreadsheets that do the maths for you.

Most money advice online is written for the US, or buried in jargon. We focus on the UK: Self Assessment, Council Tax, ISAs and the rest. Everything is written in plain English and checked against GOV.UK each tax year.

How we keep things accurate

• Figures are checked against GOV.UK and HMRC guidance.
• Every guide shows when it was last updated, and tax figures say which tax year they apply to.
• Calculators are updated before each new tax year starts on 6 April.

How the site is funded

The calculators and guides are free. We also sell spreadsheet templates, and some guides mention the one that fits. That's how we keep the rest free.
